Hello everyone out there in the heartland. I'm new to the group and new to Mopar as well. I know this isn't the official introduction area but what better way to say howdy than to post some pictures of my newest acquisition along with my introduction. I'm 36 years old, (for a few more days anyhow) I was born & raised in Asheboro, NC and I worked as a machinist running CNC lathes for 18 years before becoming permanently disabled following an ATV accident that caused my back to break. I was very fortunate and did not suffer any paralysis but I live in a constant state of intense pain from nerve damage. I'm not here to whine about that though. I'm here to share my love of cars with like minded people so lets move on.

I have been into classic cars and trucks my whole life. After learning to drive i my dad's Plymouth Volare wagon with a Super 6 and 4 on the floor overdrive tranny I got my first car, a '66 Mustang Sprint coupe and I've owned several other 60's & early 70's cars and trucks since then. I prefer older Americn vehicles to new cars and though I've owned a few late models over the years, used as basic transportation my passion is for the classics. I pretty much keep a project vehicle at all times and in the past have restored them and kept them for just a short time after wards and then sold them and moved on to the next project. Well, I have owned so many Fords and Chevys over the years and for no good reason I'd never owned any Chrysler products but that has now changed. I recently purchased the '72 Dodge Dart Swinger Special pictured here and I am in love. I actually fell in love with her the first time I saw her picture on eBay and I just knew I had to make her mine. She is a lot nicer than most of the cars I buy in that she already has fresh paint and seat covers but I intend to finish all the other details like re chroming trim and adding new carpet and one day dropping in a V8 but the best part is I can enjoy her as is and drive her as I do these things. I already have another major project going and have no desire to, nor do I feel up to having two full restorations going at once so this little car was perfect. I plsn to keep this car a long, long time and I hope to make her as nice or nicer thsn the day she rolled off the assembly line.

So I look forward to meeting some new people, making some friends and learning all I can about these wonderful rides while my love for Mopar grows. Thanks for taking the time to read my thread and check out my ride.

I know this is old news but either those are great pics with a great camera or the car just looks that good. I just sold a 67 Dart GT project and moved on to a 69 GTX, the Dart was going to be a drag car but decided I would rather have a driver. Anyway, WELCOME to the site!

This is too weird, I took some of my first driving lessons in my parent's Slant Six '78 Volare wagon as well, we didn't have the cool 4 on the floor though! I am permanently disabled as well, though mine disability isn't nearly as painful as yours sounds. I have some cool accessories though! :) That is one nice Dart you have there. Hope to see you around!
