I thinking about getting a front sway bar for the Duster. Do you guys think it would be a good upgrade? And if I do, should I do just the front or get a rear sway bar as well? I can get a front for about $110 shipped of ebay which is about $50 cheaper than Summit Racing.

If you've got the means, get both. Or you could always just install the front one now and the rear later. They'll make a big difference in handling though.

I can tell ya that putting on factory sway bars front and rear on my convert made a big difference. So adding the good ones that are on the market now will be well worth the money. Not just to go around corners faster, but really helps the ride on the highway. Car just doesn't move around near as much from the crest in the road.

I think I'll do both the front and rear. Any improvement in handling will be a good thing.

Mine already has the front, I don't remember on the rear but I will definitely be making use of those as well as getting the rebuild kit for the front end parts soon. I am striving to drive this car this summer, not pretty for now but trying to make it road worthy soon!

71BlueDuster, sway bars will be a big help, but be sure you match the other suspension components so they will all work together well. What size T bars are you using? How about bushings? What rear springs? What I am trying to say is just don't throw a bunch of parts at it. Think it through and talk to some experts about what you want the car to do. The guys at Firm Feel really know their stuff, I went through them when I had my 68 Dart.

Hey 69 GTX, I agree, drive it this summer! Don't worry about how it looks right now, or spray bomb some primer on it, but drive it!

Ugly or not, hope to get it on the pavement and burn up some $4 a gallon gas, oh boy!

I'm not looking to make it a road race car by any means, just looking to make it handle a little better. T-bars are standard 340 A-body size, I have Super Stock springs on the rear, bushings are all rubber.

Poly bushings are a great upgrade if you do plan on rebuilding the suspension sometime, no matter what type of driving you plan to do. The nice part about A boodies is the weight. They are light enough that it does not take a lot to make them a nice all around car.
