Hello, does anyone have a vintage 1970 neb license plate they want to sell. I tried ebay and I think they had every year but 70. PM me if you might know where I could find one. THANKS in advance

You have to use a 1969 plate, neb issued plates in 1966, 1969, 1972, 1976, 1982 & so on.

I could swear I had a 68 plate at one time. It was black with yellow print.

There is a guy here in Omaha who is at the WEdnesday car show at Flashbacks who always has plates to sell.

If you can't find a plate or set of plates that you want on eBay, I have a pair of '69 NE plates (good for '69 - '71) that I would be willing to sell. These plates are in great shape -- far better than average. 16 county.

Thanks 71cudajoe, but I have to research this a bit. I wanted to find an old plate so I could use it as a vintage plate. According to the dmv if you run a vintage plate you don't have to run a front plate. But I'm guessing I will need the county I'm going to register it in. And finding a 10 county 69 plate might be more problems than it's worth. I'll give the dmv a call :thsleep_4: and see what they say. Thanks again

You DO only need one plate on the rear. You can use 2 if you want. You do NOT have to have it in any particular county. I have one from Polk and one from Lincoln county. I live (or never have) in either. That is not a problem. They DO have to inspect the plate in Lincoln before OK'ing it.

no318 is correct. They need to visually inspect the plate.

Thanks guys, let me see if I got this. I don't need the correct county. I just need any 69 plate and take it in with me to register the car? Does it take a while to ok the plate or do they do it on the spot? Thanks again

It took my wife less then 5 min at the DMV to get the Challenger plates approved.

I am also looking for a plate for the T. I had a rather lengthy conversation with the DMV and several people that are experienced in vintage plates. Everyone else is correct and to add, there is a shop that will take one or several plates and cut them up and make a plate with whatever number you want and refinish it in the correct color (they will check color when you take it in and it has to match their sample exactly). If you find a plate that you like I also recomend that you call the DMV first and verify that the number is not already assigned to another car. Even if you find a matching set, someone else may have had a plate "made" with that number.
Hope this helps.

As others have mentioned, the county number on the plate doesn't matter for a vintage plate. The 16 county plates I have were never issued, so they are as close to excellent condition as you can get for a 40-year old plate. They are very nice. I do have a pair, but I will sell them for what I paid - $25 (which is a heck of a lot less than what those license-plate vendors sell them for at the car shows). Some of the vendors charge $50 for a single plate, $75 if the county matches the year. That happens to be the only reason I don't need the 16-county plates -- I found a 1971 plate with 71 county. I'm going to use that one instead.
