allright, looking for any advice on this POS car. It randomly loses power, like it's dropping a cylinder or the tranny is slipping and then all of a sudden it runs fine. We've taken it to the dealer and of course the stupid thing won't act up. When it does it, it's mostly at low rpms like coming to a stop or just accelerating from a stop, however it decided it wanted to do it at 60 mph today. It won't throw any codes and as far as I can tell, it's not really losing any rpms either.
It's a 2.7 litre, any ideas?
Help save this chrysler from being traded in for a ford.....

Maybe a fuel pump getting weak? Or maybe an injector starting to bad. Could be alot of differant things, would be nice if a code would show up.

i know when my O2 was going out it would fall flat on its face and then catch up, I was dumb enough to take it in for a scan they said no codes i did a little test on my own the 5 key turn code reading and bam it showed a bad O2 sensor. It would only act weird during mild throttle on idle and WOT it ran fine. But my truck was old enough that its got the code reader through the CEL. Good luck

Well, the stupid car kept doing it so I dropped it off at the dealer and asked them to find the problem because I'm done driving it. It tried to stall in the middle of 48th and Vine in the intersection. It sounds very similar to what CrazyPete had happen, WOT and it runs fine, low rpms and runs like crap-just not all the time. Hopefully, the techs can find out what's wrong with it. In the mean time I will drive my truck and spend twice as much in gas.

If it is an idle/low rpm problem only, it sounds like it could be EGR valve hanging open.

update Friday: Well the car has been at the mechanic since monday, it acts up for the techs now, but they can't figure out what's wrong with it.

dropping spark or dropping fuel?
They don't know, he told me it's just dropping cylinders. They thought it was the fuel pump, then decided it's not They are going to replace spark plugs...which I'm pretty sure won't fix anything. I've found several posts/complaints that describe what's happening with the car from other peoples experiences. From what I've found it could be the idle air control valve, throttle position sensor or the crank position sensor but the car isn't throwing any codes. I think I might just buy those parts and put them on myself.

What dealer did you take it to? I would do the parts myself as well, dealer prices are too high if the only fix left is the shotgun method.

If it happened @ 60 mph the other day it can't be the IAC. I don't think spark plugs will help either. I don't think it sounds like a TPS, from what you have described. Crank sensor.....maybe, but they should be able to lab scope it and see what it looks like, I would think.
If you decide to change it, DON'T buy the cheapest one you can get. I would use an OEM Mopar one. Just my 2 cents worth.
